Congratulations to our winter sports student-athletes, who were recognized at Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting!
Board members presented certificates of achievement to athletes who earned all-conference honors, broke school records, and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship this season. Coaches, families, and fellow students packed the room to cheer them on.
We are so proud of everything these young men and women have accomplished.

Kendel Burkhardt is our Alumni Spotlight for April!
Kendel is a member of the graduating class of 2020. After graduation, Kendel attended the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University and currently works for LakeVille Community Schools as a mentor in the Advancement Academy.
Kendel has two older brothers, Mason and Tanner who are also LakeVille Alumni. Both of their wives are LakeVille Alumni as well. Kendel’s brothers have given him the opportunity to be the FUN uncle for the last nine years - with 4 amazing nephews and a niece on the way very soon. Kendel has two very supportive parents. Kendel’s mom Shelley has worked for LakeVille for almost twenty years and his dad, Ken, is also a LakeVille graduate and has served on the school board since he was in high school.
Kendel has so many great memories from his 13 years of being a student at LakeVille. Going to Washington DC as an 8th grader, he made many memories with great friends that he will never forget. Also having the opportunity to play sports at LakeVille, specifically basketball, and now come back and coach the LakeVille Varsity Girls Basketball team means a lot to him. Kendel played soccer, baseball, and football on and off until high school. He started playing basketball in 3rd grade and hasn’t stopped.
Kendel had so many amazing teachers in his time as a student at LV that it is difficult for him to choose just one favorite. Aside from his mother who is a LakeVille staff member and has been so supportive of him his entire life, Kendel says our superintendent from when he was in school, Mr. Lytle, was a role model and really helped him get into education and is someone that he looks up to a lot.
If Kendel could go back and give himself advice when he was a LakeVille student, he would say - coming in as a freshman you think the next four years are going to last a lifetime. This is far from the truth and you are walking out those doors for the last time and into the real world in a blink of an eye. So enjoy the moment, embrace the challenges that school and sports present, and make the most of being a Falcon.

Huge shout out to our 10th Graders who volunteered at the Eastern Michigan Food Bank today! Volunteers helped 17,000 people, packed 256 boxes of food, and created 15,900 meals! It's a great day to be a Falcon!
