The STEM lab was able to acquire a 6 foot Knex Ferris Wheel kit at the end of the first marking period. At the beginning of 2nd marking period I had three ambitious young men (Conner Hess, Gavin Schneider and Logan Gitre) that were willing to accept the challenge of learning about science, technology, engineering and math through the creative Ferris Wheel build. The Ferris Wheel kit includes 8,551 parts

Middle school students enjoyed their day with fun activities, started out with an assembly for students raising $1000.00 in penny war. Mr. Coulter, gave up his mustache, Mr. Baldermann and Mr. Williams got their heads shaved and Mr. Burkhardt agreed to get his hair dyed pink. Then each grade had gym time, computer time and some crafts. We finished out the day with cookies and hot cocoa. One more day until Christmas break.

Winter Break December 21 - January 2
1-2-3-4 I declare a penny war... We are off to a great start. 7th grade took a commanding lead on the first day. 5th grade and 6th grade remained positive, but the 8th grade were given lots of silver coins to put them into the negative count. We will continue our penny war until Friday. All monies raised will be used to assist families in need in middle school with holidays. A Also, our holiday shop will continue until Thursday. Candy Grams will be sold next week, December 12-16, $.50 each sold during lunch and delivered 6th hour.
